Whitney Plantation Museum

Whitney Plantation Visitor's Center Exhibit

Whitney Plantation is a museum of slavery on the grounds of an historical sugar, rice and indigo plantation established in 1752. It is one of the only historic sites in the country focused solely on the lives of enslaved people. Their visitor center's exhibit "Slavery in Louisiana" tells their story beginning with the Middle Passage through emancipation and its aftermath.
